Percussion takes center stage in this exhilarating concert. Hear familiar instruments played in unfamiliar ways, and immerse yourself in the one-of-a-kind sound world of György Ligeti’s delightfully ambitious work for mezzo-soprano and four percussion. Franck Bedrossian explodes the limits of the rhythm section in Digital for percussion, contrabass and electronics, while Maki Ishii bestrides musical East and West in a beguiling reminiscence for harp and a dynamic percussion duo.

Composers Franck Bedrossian and Yiorgos Vassilandonakis will participate in a pre-concert talk, moderated by David Milnes.
