Jeff Anderle (clarinet) enjoys an extremely diverse musical life. In addition to his role in SFCMP, he is a pioneer in the world of low reeds, from Sqwonk’s tongue-in-cheek ferocity to Edmund Welles’ “heavy chamber music” to the complex buzzings of the reed quintet Splinter. An exponent of contemporary classical music, Jeff is a member of the Paul Dresher Electro/Acoustic Band, the bi-coastal ensemble REDSHIFT and Magik*Magik Orchestra, and has played with Bay Area groups San Francisco Ballet, San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, Friction Quartet, Left Coast Chamber Ensemble, and Earplay. In addition, Jeff is a founding co-director of Switchboard Music, which presents an annual marathon concert featuring music that fuses different genres and styles. Jeff is on the faculty of the S.F. Conservatory of Music where he teaches clarinet, chamber music, and entrepreneurship. Jeff holds a M.M. from SFCM and a B.A. from the University of California-Los Angeles. He joined SFCMP in 2012.
