Contemporary Insights: Music and Conversation
Sunday, November 1, 2009 4:30 pm
ODC Dance Commons, San Francisco
Each Contemporary Insights event focuses on a single piece from the following Monday’s concert. Composers and musicians talk about the piece, and the musicians demonstrate parts of it. After performing the work in its entirety, the musicians elicit reactions, answer questions, and talk with the audience.
Complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served in the lobby.

Ken Ueno, new work for flute, percussion, prepared piano, viola, cello, and voice.

Ueno will perform the vocal part in this new piece himself, using the extended techniques that have been called a “far-out highlight” by the Boston Globe.
