Peter Josheff (clarinet) is a founding member of Sonic Harvest and Earplay. He is also a member of the Empyrean Ensemble, the Eco Ensemble, and the Paul Dresher Ensemble. He has toured with Melody of China, and has performed on many recordings, concert series and festivals, both nationally and internationally. Peter’s recent compositions include Nautical Man Nautical Man, Sutro Tower in the Fog, commissioned, premiered, and recorded by the Bernal Hill Players; Sextet, premiered by Sonic Harvest; Caught Between Two World: Three Poems by Dorothy Cary; Inferno, a chamber opera produced by San Francisco Cabaret Opera; and Viola and Mallets, commissioned and premiered by the Empyrean Ensemble. He is currently planning a new work to be premiered by Earplay in the 2013-14 season.
Peter has worked extensively with young composers, performing their music and talking to graduate and undergraduate classes about the clarinet at UC Berkeley, UC Davis, Stanford University, San Francisco State University, and Sacramento State University, and for the American Composers Forum Composer in the Schools Program. His workshop called Clarinet for Composers has been presented at the UC Davis Clarinet Festival and at an American Composers Forum seminar in San Francisco. Peter joined the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players in 2012.
