Join the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players for an unforgettable evening as we honor the legendary John Adams—a true luminary in contemporary music—on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 6:00–9:00 PM in the elegant Green Room at the San Francisco War Memorial Performing Arts Center.
Sound & Wine, our annual fundraising event, is an exquisite gathering of music lovers, artists, and supporters, where fine wine, gourmet cuisine, and the power of live music come together in celebration. This year, we shine a spotlight on John Adams, whose groundbreaking contributions have shaped the Bay Area’s musical landscape and the world of contemporary composition.
A Special Evening with John Adams - The evening will feature a rare and intimate conversation between John Adams and our Artistic Director, Eric Dudley, offering a glimpse into his illustrious career and his history with the Contemporary Music Players. The program will also include a mesmerizing performance of Adams’ "Road Movies" (1995) by acclaimed violinist Kevin Rogers and pianist Kate Campbell.
An Elegant Affair with a Purpose - Beyond the music, guests will enjoy an evening of camaraderie, featuring a silent auction, exceptional food and wine, and the opportunity to mingle with fellow music enthusiasts—all in support of SFCMP’s artistic programming.
